Serving the city of Richmond as a council member for the past 16 years certainly means Jeff Yaroch is well versed in local matters. Now, he is hoping to represent his constituents at the state level.
Yaroch filed documents on March 21 seeking a two-year term as a state representative serving District 33 in the Michigan House of Representatives. District 33 includes Armada, Lenox, Ray and Richmond townships, as well as portions of Macomb Township and the cities of Richmond and Memphis.
The seat is currently held by state Rep. Ken Goike who was first elected in 2010 and will be term-limited out of the office this fall.
“This will be an interesting election coming up because it’s an open seat with Goike term-limited out and Andrea LaFontaine (District 32) is term-limited, too,” Yaroch said.
